Job Requirements

  • 7-10+ years experience in IT project management, IT management, Business Analysis, or Project Implementation, including vendor-based COTS implementations
  • Some travel may be required (20-35%); evenings may also be required as needed
  • Experience capturing current state/future state business processes and requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Runs complex IT projects and programs from concept to completion, including leadership of the following efforts:
    • Business analysis (current state capture, future state design, scenario or user story development, etc.)
    • Requirements gathering (business, functional, technical)
    • Solution design
    • Development, configuration and integration efforts
    • Business readiness and change planning
    • Testing
    • Deployment
    • Transition to operational support
  • Leads engagement teams in the initiation, planning, execution and closure of projects, including but not limited to the following fundamental responsibilities:
    • Facilitates the definition of project scopes, outcomes, milestones, and deliverables as well as baseline schedule (Microsoft Project) and budget.
    • Monitors and reports project performance against the baseline.
    • Establishes clear roles and responsibilities as well as an effective program/project governance structure for decision-making
    • Facilitates effective communication, conflict-resolution, and teamwork among stakeholders
    • Proactively identifies and encourages the team to identify risks and strategies for mitigation
    • Designs and maintains project documentation
    • Effectively manages vendor relationships and expectations
    • Facilitates coordination of multiple sub-Projects and sub-Project Managers when required to manage a complex Program of related projects
  • Facilitates vendor evaluation and selection, including:
    • Development of a thorough RFP package
    • Establishment of vendor criteria aligned to requirements
    • Vetting of potential solutions against defined scenarios and use cases
    • Facilitation of a structured, fair process to evaluate potential vendors
    • Creation of vendor performance criteria and a clear statement of work
  • Leads change management efforts for clients implementing or upgrading enterprise wide software.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to facilitate planning, implementation, configuration, and support. Identifies trends and changes in technology and explains them to senior leadership team.

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • MS Project
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile PM Methodologies (helpful but not required)
  • PMP (strongly preferred)
  • Scheduling and budgeting experience
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience
  • Background in information technology, strategy development, program/project management, procurement, process re-engineering and organizational transformation.
